Triboelectric phenomena at metal-polymer friction contact and their dependence on temperature
Incoming article date: 03.12.2014The research of triboelectrization of metal-polymeric contact has been conducted. It was based on the concept of surface states (SS), which represent energy levels on the surface and are the localization centers of the free charge carriers. Thus surface states on a metal are a boundary layer of a chemical compound formed by a metal with the atoms that are included into a composition of atmospheric gases or a polymer. Surface states on a polymer are connected with the fragments of polymeric molecules, appearing in the result of tribodestruction, by the radicals containing unpaired electrons. The investigation shows that a level of electrization of a composite polymer reduces if heteropolar polymers are brought together.
